26th Annual Commodore John Barry Irish Festival
The Olean A.O.H. is presenting The 26th Annual Commodore John Barry Irish Festival. The event will take place on Friday, September 11th (from 6:00 to 11:00) and Saturday, September 12th (from noon to 9:00) 2009 and will be held at Gargoyle Park in Olean, New York. This festival has a tradition of providing the finest Irish food and entertainment in Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania. This year's entertainment includes:
The LeftOvers- Friday from 7:00 to 11:00
The Wild Rovers- Saturday Noon to 5:00
The Dady Brothers- Saturday 5:00 9:00
Olean Area Irish School of Dance- Friday and Saturday
Gargoyle Bagpipe Band- Friday and Saturday

25th Anniversary Dinner
Saturday, August 15th at 5:00 pm-- Steak Dinner ($10.00 per person/cocktails at 3:00) celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the founding of our Division... to especially mark the occasion, we will honor the original founding members of our A.O.H. organization in Olean.
Bud and Burger Night:
Tuesday, July 21st at 6:00 pm--Welcome to all members, their families and friends... bangers, burgers, hot dogs, chips, etc., provided by the Club; cash bar with Budweiser product specials. Guinness and American Ale (try an "Irish American") on tap, of course!! See you there!
Allegany River Spring Canoe Trip:
On May 30th a successful sojourn, beginning in Eldred, PA and ending at Camp Dougherty in Olean, was completed by a sizable "Irish Armada", with beverages and much laughter in tow! Join the merryment on our next nature cruise!
Gaelic 200 Raffle Drawing:
Saturday, June 6th at The Blackthorn Pub, from 2:00 until 7:00; tickets may be purchased from Co-Chairmen Bob Mountain or Bill O'Connell at $50.00 per: live music and food will be provided; proceeds are dedicated to the A.O.H. Scholarship Fund.
The 2009 Scholarship winners are: Ann E. Skrobacz (Olean High) and Mackenzie Forrest (Olean High)- congratulations to these two fine young ladies!
Gaelic 200 drawing winners will recieve notification by mail...
Friday Nights At The Blackthorn Pub:
Members and Guests come enjoy an "end of the week" T.G.I.F. get together, complete with Irish music, cold beverages, a full food menu (including Tom's Fish Fry) and plenty of good cheer!

Route 86 Highway Clean Up- May 16th
Saturday, May 16th-- volunteers please meet at The Club at 9:30 a.m. to pick up vests, hard hats, bags; we'll progress to the highway turn-off just east of Exit 26 at 10:00 a.m.; rain date will be Sunday, May 17th, Noon-2:00 p.m. (meet at 11:30 a.m.)
Saint Patrick's Day Celebration - March 17th
-Come join with us in celebration to commemorate the time-honored tradition of the Patron Saint of Ireland, St. Patrick.
-The Blackthorn Pub and Hibernian Hall will commence activities at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, the 17th, of course.
-Traditional Irish Fare (Boiled Dinners, Bangers, Salt Potatoes, Corn Beef/Ham Sandwiches) will be available from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
-Guinness and Smithwick's on tap, along with a new offering, Bud American Ale (Yes, you are welcome to try an A.O.H. original, "The Irish-American"... half American Ale and half Guinness!)
-Music by "The Wild Rovers" (Billy and Andy once again bring their own special brand of Celtic Music to The Blackthorn) from 7:00-110PM
-Olean Area Irish Dancers @ 5:00-6:30 PM
-A.O.H. Gargoyle Bagpipers @ 6:30-7:00 PM (following Irish Dancers)

Where? The Olean A.O.H. Clubhouse
Details: Wild Game Dinner as theme; outdoorsmen, hunters, fishermen, etc., bring your own special "wild game/fish" dishes to pass (buffet style); members and guests are welcome (you need not bring a dish... although other side dishes, salads, and/or desserts would be appreciated); FREE Labatt's draft beer while it lasts; possible euchre tournament to follow; this is intended to be an informal affair and we encourage everyone to attend and sample the local "wild fare".
